Amazon Kindle

The Amazon Kindle is my favorite piece of technology I own right now! I love it! If you  enjoy reading I highly recommend investing in a Kindle. Everyone says that they'd rather carry an actual book, but you will change your mind when you realize the convenience of the Kindle. I'm obsessed with mine. Also, I bought the  Kindle Lighted Leather Cover in pink for my Kindle. Although it was more than I wanted to pay for a cover, it comes with a built in book light that has actually been great to have.

Now please go buy yourself a Kindle right now!

Let me introduce you to Shellac...

This is one of my favorite beauty products ever!
CND's Shellac nail polish is a must have!
Here is why:

Lasts at least 2 weeks
Doesn't chip or smudge
Doesn't ruin your nails
It doesn't use acrylic, applied with UV gel
Comes in lots of different colors
It is applied to your natural nail
Has a glossy, shiny look when finished
No dry time

You should try it out! You will not be disappointed. I have been wearing Shellac for 6 months now and I recommend it to everyone! The only down side is that it can be expensive, however it really is worth every penny. So plan a day to pamper yourself and go Shellac your nails. You deserve it! Click here to find a salon near you that carries CND's Shellac.

This CD never gets old and never will. If you don't own it, you should.

“Seersucker Thursday"

On Thursday morning I walked into the Dirksen Senate Office Building for a Senate Committee on Foreign Relations Hearing and during the hearing I happened to notice Senator Mike Lee wearing the most unattractive suit I have ever seen.

It wasn't until the next day I learned the reasoning behind his lovely suit. On Thursday it was "Seersucker Thursday," a yearly tradition in the Senate started by former Senator Trent Lott in the 1990's. This year the participants included Senators Kirsten Gillibrand,  Mike Lee, Lisa Murkowski, and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell.

According to the Senate website, Senator Lott created the tradition to prove that "the Senate isn't just a bunch of dour folks wearing dark suits." But based on what looked like a family in matching pajamas on Christmas Eve, being "dour" in dark suits doesn't seem THAT BAD. Guess we will see what next year brings... (It can't get that much worse...right?)

Cheers until then!
